Bellefountaine
The Paranormal Scientific Investigators received an email in March of 2008 from a concerned potential client
in the Bellefountaine area indicating that they felt they were experiencing paranormal activity. There had
been a certain smell off and on for about a month coming from the registers. Their two daughters had been
seeing black shadows walking. Things were being physically moved. They themselves had recorded
whatever it was calling one of their daughters name out. They believe the disturbances really began they
began recording them about three to four months ago. They began in one of the daughter’s bedroom but
have since been moving throughout the house. They indicated that the activity usually increased when
everyone was settled down and in bed. The entity has sat on one of the beds in the middle of the night. A lot
of thumping noises had been heard as well as growls and heavy breathing from the registers to the
basement. Lights going off and on and cold spots that seemed to move about were also felt and seen. Given
all of this activity PSI decided to investigate.
We began our investigation at this Logan County location on Saturday March 29, 2008. Using our GPS
system we had no real problem finding the location. Upon arrival we met the clients and began by setting up
a video for the interview process. After filling out all the necessary paperwork and answering our
questionnaire, they gave us a tour of their home and they showed us the locations where the paranormal
activity was more prevalent while we were taking electromagnetic field and thermometer readings. We then
began to set up our equipment in the locations we thought best and setting a home base for our digital video
recorder unit as well as our computers.
When we were ready the lights were turned out. The daughter’s bedroom is where we began our
investigating. Several video recorders were recording as well as digital voice recorders. We took numerous
pictures after asking questions using our digital cameras. Thermo-hygrometer readings were taken often as
well as electromagnetic field readings and noted into our logs. We log into our data sheets everything we
can, noting any possible paranormal activity as well as those readings mentioned above and the time and
our locations. Documentation is essential and we can always refer back to our notes for reference.
About every 30 minutes to an hour we move on to another area and repeat the thorough methodical
procedure, again noting anything unusual. At this point we were in the master bedroom. We immediately
noted that it was much cooler than the daughter’s bedroom. We also noted how both bedroom doors could
easily move once opened or nudged ever so gently. In the distance we noted several trains in the
background. We also noted how we could hear any sound made by the clients who were downstairs at the
time.
Around midnight we headed to the basement again repeating the above-described procedures. Many
pictures were taken and video and audio recorders were in place and recording. We noted the sound the
furnace made when it kicked on or off. We really did not smell anything unusual anywhere in the house.
During our investigation we detected really nothing unusual at all, but often that is the case. Many times you
will find potential after the fact upon reviewing the actual evidence, pictures, audio and video recordings. We
had a lot of evidence to review.
We wrapped up the investigation and gathered up our equipment. We sat down with the clients again and
listened to some of what they had recorded themselves. We told the clients that we had much evidence to
review and that we would get back with them in a few weeks and let them know what we found.
After reviewing all of the evidence, we determined that at least while we were there, that no paranormal
activity was detected. Of course we were only there a number of hours, the clients have to live there, and so
often, given the short amount of time we were there, this turns out to be the case. We sent them our packet
that included photocopies of all the forms that were filled out as well as our conclusions.
Since that time we have come to learn that the clients have since moved out of the house. Hopefully that
resolves the difficulties they were experiencing.
